Rex Pillas, the father of embattled star Duane “Kelra” Pillas, pleaded for understanding after his son figured in a string of controversies that led to a 14-day ban in the MPL Philippines, Monday night.
A couple of videos clipped from the livestream of RRQ Hoshi star Albert “Alberttt” Iskandar showed Kelra, who was playing with Alberttt at the time and was communicating through Discord, making his inappropriate remarks.
The 16-year-old up-and-coming star made lewd comments about Blacklist International members Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario and Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna. He also made sexist remarks over Thai player Chareeny “Ramellabah” Ramella of IDNS Esports.
Aside from the 14-day suspension without pay, the 2021 MSC MVP was also given a serious warning, along with an undisclosed amount of fine.
Players that are set to compete in the Season Eight of MPL Philippines are now required to attend a Gender Sensitivity and Sexual Harassment Awareness Training Seminar.
