After being handed a two-week ban for his inappropriate actions, Duane “Kelra” Pillas made sure to keep himself ready for his Omega debut.
Though a sweep at the hands of Bren Esports marred his comeback with the team last Friday, the 2021 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup Most Valuable Player instantly made an impact for the team.
And on Sunday, he helped the squad snap its three-game losing streak after a dominant 2-0 victory over TNC.
“Nagpapainit lang po ako nun habang ‘di ako nag lalaro,” said Kelra after the win.
“Tinutulungan ko lang din po sila kung anong gagawin. Ayun lang po magagawa ko e kasi bawal ako mag laro.”
The 16-year-old rising star figured in a string of controversies prior to the MPL season. He was heard hurling homophobic remarks towards Blacklist International stars Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna, Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario, and uttering sexist statements about Chaneery “Ramellaba” Ramella of IDNS Esports and the female members of Bigetron Alpha during a livestream.
This resulted in a two-week suspension along with several fines from the league and his mother club.
Kelra has since apologized to the aggrieved party and vowed to be better moving forward.
After helping Omega Esports halt its losing skid, Kelra vowed to make up for lost time and lift the team up the standings.
Omega Esports (2-5), who zoomed to a share of the third spot with Nexplay EVOS (3-3), is set to take on RSG PH on Sunday at 6:00 PM.
“Hindi pa ito yung tunay kong laro. ‘Di ko pa nilalabas.”
