Kairi, Yeb head to Indonesia, sign with ONIC Esports

ONIC Esports officially announced the signing of Filipino jungler Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol and coach Denver “Yeb” Miranda, Monday afternoon.

The organization broke the news via a press conference on Youtube.

With the signing, Kairi is now officially the first Filipino Mobile Legends: Bang Bang player to serve as an import. Yeb, meanwhile, is the third Filipino head coach to lead an overseas team after Francis “Duckey” Glindro and John “Zico” Dizon.

The two are definitely welcome additions to the ONIC flagship squad which has suffered a couple of disappointing losses in the past year.

ONIC Esports won two consecutive titles in the MPL Indonesia Season Eight and the ONE Esports MPL Invitational before bowing out of the M3 World Championships early, finishing the tournament at 9th-12th place.

The team settled for a silver finish in Season Nine – landing them a ticket to the 2022 MSC. There, the team once again underwhelmed, failing to even make it to the playoffs of the regional tilt after posting a 0-1-1 slate in the group stage which relegated them to 9th-12th place anew.

On the other hand, Kairi and Yeb made it to the grand finals of the MPL Philippines Season Eight and the M3 World Championships but lost both times to Blacklist International.
