Filipino jungler Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol will spearhead ONIC Esports’ attempt to capture its second Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup championship this June.
The former MPL Indonesia Regular Season MVP will lead the back-to-back ID champs’ six-man roster, which Moonton announced on Saturday, and will fly to Cambodia.
Kairi will be joined by the championship core of Muhammad “Butsss” Sanubari, Sanz “Sanz” Gilang, Calvin “CW” Winata, and Nicky “Kiboy” Fernando. The team has also brought in Adriand “Drian” Wong as a reserve, leaving Thomas “SamoHt” Budiman out of their MSC roster.
Reigning MPL Indonesia Coach of the Year, Denver “Yeb” Miranda, will call the shots, while Adi “Adi” Asyauri will serve as an analyst.
ONIC Esports is coming off a dominant campaign in Season 11, where they only lost one series en route to their second consecutive championship in the game’s biggest region. The team manhandled EVOS Legends in the grand finals, scoring a lopsided 4-0 sweep.
The four-time MPL Indonesia champion squad, however, had a disappointing campaign in the 2022 edition of the regional meet, where they failed to make the playoffs after losing to Myanmar’s Falcon Esports and settling for a draw against Todak.
But with Kairi and Yeb now in tow, ONIC Esports is looking to bounce back and claim their first major international title since 2019 when they won the MSC title in Manila.
