Jocel Ninobla bags SEAG poomsae gold by a hairline


Jocel Ninobla edged out her closest competitor to snare the 30th Southeast Asian Games recognized poomsae women’s individual event, Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. 

The University of Santo Tomas product overtook Thailand’s Ornawee Stisahakit with 8.433 — a mere 0.001 points ahead.

Vietnam’s Le Tran Kim Uyen and Rachmania Putri walked away with the bronze medals with 8.149 and 7.965, respectively.

KL 2017 Games champion Khim Wen Yap of Malaysia struggled in keumgang to crash to ninth place, while 2015 queen Chelsea Sim of Singapore also missed out on the podium.
