Jewel Encarnacion reunites with Shaq delos Santos, signs with Cignal

Jewel Encarnacion is set to begin the next chapter of her promising career, joining Cignal for the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.

The Super Spikers announced the move on Thursday afternoon, just three days before their debut in the import-laden tournament against Choco Mucho on Monday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“I thank VP Global Management for helping me navigate this transition. Despite the short time to negotiate with the teams, I was able to come up with the right decision on which team to choose,” said Encarnacion, who carefully weighed offers from several PVL clubs before ultimately deciding to join Cignal.

Drafted 15th overall by Galeries Tower in the 2024 PVL Draft, Encarnacion quickly established herself as one of the Highrisers’ key contributors over the past three conferences, including the team’s maiden quarterfinals appearance in the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference.

The former University of the Philippines team captain expressed her gratitude to the Galeries Tower franchise for giving her the opportunity to kick-start her professional career and for the trust and support extended throughout her stay.

“Thank you to Galeries Tower for the chance to start my professional career and for all the learnings I’ll carry forward. It was an honor to play for the team.”

Now with the Super Spikers, Encarnacion feels excited to reunite with her former collegiate mentor, Shaq Delos Santos, and eager to contribute to a system she already knows well.

“It feels great to be back under Coach Shaq — someone who knows my game and helped me grow as an athlete. I’m also excited to join Cignal’s current roster, where I believe I can contribute more and continue to develop as a player,” said Encarnacion.
