Eva Chantava returns to PH, joins Cignal for Reinforced Conference

Cignal will strengthen its roster with the addition of Greek outside spiker Eva Chantava for the 2025 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.

The HD Spikers finished third in last year’s Reinforced Conference with MJ Perez as their import.

Filipino fans already got a glimpse of Chantava earlier this year when she led Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC to a bronze finish in the AVC Women’s Champions League at the PhilSports Arena.

“Greek outside hitter Evangelia ‘Eva’ Chantava is set to bring her incredible energy to the Cignal HD Spikers for the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference,” the team announced on social media.

“Chantava is a decorated spiker, boasting multiple Most Valuable Player awards and an impressive collection of titles and medals throughout her career.”

The 34-year-old veteran brings two decades of experience, having showcased her skills across some of the world’s top volleyball leagues in Italy, Turkey, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Romania, Brazil, Indonesia, and Japan.

Chantava will add firepower to a Cignal squad that recently unearthed a rising star in Erika Santos — the PVL On Tour MVP — while continuing to rely on the steady presence of Vanie Gandler.
