LIPA CITY, BATANGAS—Jelord Talisayan showed what Negros Oriental volleyball is all about on Tuesday night.
Facing a stacked Global Remit squad, Talisayan introduced himself on the national stage. He led Sabong International to a 25-21, 25-21, 17-25, 25-21 win in the PNVF Champions League at the Aquamarine Recreational Center here.
The former FEU high school standout scored a team-high 18 points. He also had six excellent digs and six excellent receptions for the young Sabong International team.
Talisayan also relished the chance to play against seasoned veterans and National team members Ish Polvorosa, Joeven Dela Vega, and Jack Kalingking, among others.
Moreover, he just wants to prove to himself that he can stand toe-to-toe against some of the country’s most talented players.
With the huge win, Sabong International moved to the second spot in Pool B. They have four points on a 1-1 standing.
They look to secure one of the two semifinals berths in the group against Pool B leader Team Dasma at 10:00 AM tomorrow.
