Japeth Aguilar: I am open but I don’t think I can play with my injury

Japeth Aguilar says he is still open to playing for the national team, although his injury hasn’t fully healed yet and is affecting him from reaching his desired form.

“My recovery is doing really well. I am doing therapy and clinic,” Aguilar said, adding he will still need six weeks to recuperate.

“I am still open but I don’t think I can play (at a high level) with my injury.”

Aguilar also said that while he is recovering, he is focused on trying to win a title under Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s new head coach Tim Cone.

“We have the best coach right now, the winningest coach, and I am looking forward to winning championships with him,” the athletic forward said.

Aguilar also mentioned that in the 2015 PBA Rookie Draft, it is all up to Cone to select whom he feels will fit the system.

“It is really a talented pool, pero tingin ko nakay Coach Tim na lahat yan,” Aguilar said.

And as far as adjusting to the new system is concerned, Aguilar remarked: “I love the triangle. I enjoy playing the triangle.”
