Jalen Green, Ignite stave off Raptors 905 to go to 3-0 in G League

Ignite needed a late game surge once more to escape Raptors 905, 113-105, in the G League inside the Disney campus in Orlando Florida, Sunday morning (Manila time).

Filipino-American Green tallied 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting with three rebounds and three steals.

In their third game, it was the young guns who finally took charge.

Clinging to a 97-96 lead midway through the final frame, Jonathan Kuminga and Green joined hands in a mini spurt to end the Raptors’ comeback hopes.

Daishen Nix led the way for the 3-0 Ignite with 25 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Meanwhile, Kuminga added 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Isaiah Todd chipped in 14 markers built on four triples.

Former NBA pro Nik Stauskas paced the 1-2 Raptors with 23 points. Second-generation cager Gary Payton II scattered 15 points, 13 rebounds, and seven steals.

Up next for Ignite is the 0-3 Iowa on Tuesday (Manila time).
