Although the player who initially tested positive for COVID-19 already yielded negative results following re-tests, Blackwater Elite won’t see action — yet.
On Wednesday, the PBA announced that it cancelled the Elite’s 2020 Philippine Cup match with Magnolia at 4:00 p.m.
In a post through its official Twitter account, the league said that it called off the game pending approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force.
Still, the 6:45 p.m. meeting between reigning, five-time champions San Miguel Beer and the streaking Meralco will push through.
This is now the third time in four days that the league has postponed a game, beginning last Sunday when it shelved the Blackwater-Rain or Shine tiff.
It also cancelled the match between TNT and NorthPort last Monday, since the Tropang Giga played the Elite last Thursday.
With all this, changes in the schedule are expected moving forward.
