CALAMBA, LAGUNA — JR Alabanza was one of the key players in Uling Roasters Butuan City’s third leg championship romp in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup powered by TM.
As he finally found his rhythm in the second season of the now-pro league, Alabanza looked refreshed. He helped Butuan in making it on top after finishing second and third in the first two legs inside the INSPIRE Sports Academy bubble at the National University-Laguna campus here.
It must have been the haircut that Bagito Barbershop — which the league hired to service those badly in need of hair makeovers inside the “Calambubble” — that gave Alabanza his second wind.
“Thank you,” said Alabanza to the Pasig-based barbershop through his Instagram story.
Alabanza was one of the 45 people in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 delegation who took availed of the barbershop services in the bubble.
Last Saturday, Bagito’s barbers Godofredo Garcia Jr. and Dexter Escosia took turns making the players look good in the game until 10 p.m. Those who availed of their services underwent health protocols.
The barbers also got the chance to see intense 3×3 basketball action on Sunday afternoon.
Like those who enter the INSPIRE Sports Academy here, Garcia and Escosia underwent COVID-19 tests. They were later cleared to perform their duties inside the bubble.
Moreoever, the players were simply happy to have their hair done courtesy of the “Calambubble” barber shop.
