Hesa, Nexplay Evos bow out of MPLI, swept by Rebellion Genflix

Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara found himself clamped down as the undermanned Nexplay EVOS suffered a crushing 0-2 sweep at the hands of Rebellion Genflix in the ONE Esports Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Invitational, Wednesday night.

The team definitely felt the absence of Nexplay EVOS’ 1-2 punch of John Paul “H2wo” Salonga and Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcarse, getting roughed up in both matches.

Nexplay EVOS had a rough start to their MPLI campaign after losing badly to a dominant Genflix side in Game One through a 10-19 result in 17 minutes and 21 seconds.

Jhonwin “Hesa” Vergara’s Claude was crowded early on in the laning phase which derailed his farming. The NXPE gold laner managed to pick up steam mid-game, but it was not enough. Rebellion Genflix completed the rout after the second siege.

Hesa saw himself held to just a kill, three deaths, and three assists in Game One. Meanwhile, Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera ended up with just a kill, five deaths, and seven assists on Chou.

It was the same story in Game Two with NXPE falling via a 7-12 outcome in just 14 minutes and 46 seconds.

Hesa once again came alive late. But just like in the opener, it was not enough to salvage the game for NXPE. He tallied two deaths and four assists in the loss.

Genflix Rebellion advanced to the second round and will face defending MPLI champion Alter Ego tomorrow.
