H2wo, RENEJAY steal Game Two as Nexplay sweeps skidding Omega in MPL PH

John Paul “H2wo” Salonga and Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcarse pulled of a Nexplay heist in Game Two to take down Smart Omega Esports via a 2-0 sweep in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Seven regular season, Saturday night.

With Omega Esports putting all their manpower to secure the lord past the 17-minute mark of Game Two, James “Jeymz” Gloria (Yu Zhong) diverted the attention to him by contesting the objective alone.

And by the time the Smart-backed squad secured the Luminous Lord, H2wo (Lancelot) and RENEJAY (Harith) were already too deep inside their camp — finishing the match.

Surprisingly, Dexter “Exort” Martinez won the SMART MVP plum despite finishing with just two kills, seven deaths, and four assists in the 17-11 Game Two win.

Nexplay Esports fired on all cylinders in Game One, but a crucial flank from Exort late in the match bagged the 23-9 victory.

Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera was the SMART MVP in the opener, registering a game-high 11 assists along with a kill in the match that lasted for 17 minutes and five seconds.

“Kampante po kami kasi ang dami po naming items na kahit may tier three [tower] pa sila ano e, kaya naman kaya kahit may tore pinapasok namin,” said Yawi, referring to Nexplay’s Game One win.

The win put Nexplay Esports at the third spot of Group B with 13 points through a 4-5 standing while Omega Esports will remain at the second seat with 14 points and a 4-5 card.

The Setsuna “Akosi Dogie” Ignacio-coached squad was coming off a 1-2 loss against Blacklist International.
