Smart Omega snapped a two-game skid with a commanding 2-0 sweep of Team Falcons PH in Week 2 of the MPL Philippines Season 16 on Sunday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.
The win gave Omega their second victory of the season, climbing to solo fourth place with a 2-2 record, while handing the Falcons their third straight defeat, dropping them to the bottom of the standings at 1-3.
Coach Allec Monsseur “SN4P” Alvarado Alberto lauded his boys for slowly taking form and finally executing well after back-to-back losses in three-game thrillers.
“Mga 80% nailabas lahat ng pinaplano namin and na-execute so good job sa team,”said SN4P on what worked this time around for Omega.
“Maganda naman yung laro nila (Falcons), we just played our part and na-execute lahat.”
After a tight opening in Game 1, Omega seized momentum when James “Jeymz” Gloria (Lapu-Lapu) stole the first Lord from the Falcons despite being at a 4-on-5 disadvantage inside the pit.
Jeymz’s relentless backline pressure during the 13th-minute Lord clash opened the door for Salik “Hadji” Imam (Lou Yi) to land crucial crowd-control ultimates, paving the way for a decisive 4-for-0 team wipe and the game.
In Game 2, Dean “Raizen” Sumagui (Fanny) set the tone early with three kills by the 3rd minute, fueling a dominant performance that led to a lopsided series-clinching win.
He finished with a spotless 5-0-5 KDA during the 13-minute victory.
Omega will aim for a second straight win as they go up against Team Liquid PH on Saturday.
