Edward explains why he turned down MPL ID offer to remain with Blacklist

Blacklist International’s Edward “Edward” Dapadap admitted during the MPL Philippines Season 11 media day last January 28 that he received a couple of offers to play in the upcoming season of MPL Indonesia.

The 18-year-old EXP laner respectfully declined to reveal the name of the teams, but he confirmed that he received two offers to jump ship to MPL ID.

“Dalawa, basta dalawa,” Edward told a handful of reporters at the GAMA Studios in Makati.

Edward shared that he seriously considered one of the offers but he eventually pulled the plug on the idea after remembering his experiences during the 14th IESF World Championship and the M4 World Championship, which were both held in Indonesia.

The MPL PH Season 10 Finals MVP got a glimpse of what it’s like to play full-time in Indonesia late last year after he spent at least a month in Bali and Jakarta, respectively, after representing the Philippines in the IESF tourney and Blacklist International in the M-series.

That proved to be the turning point for Edward, who decided to stay with Blacklist International and play in Season 11.

“Actually gusto ko sanang mag-Indo kaso lang parang naisip ko parang ‘di ko kaya mag-Indo kasi yung language nila, yung pagkain, tapos yung environment kaya nag-decide na lang ako mag-stay sa Blacklist, dito sa Pilipinas,” said Edward.

“Kasi hindi ko talaga natripan yung pagkain dun e.”
