KarlTzy uses V33Wise as motivation in ECHO’s MPL PH S11 campaign

After seeing what happened to Bren Esports following their M2 World Championship run, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno is making sure that ECHO will not suffer the same fate in the MPL Philippines Season 11.

Two years ago, KarlTzy steered Bren Esports to the MPL Philippines Season Six title before helping the team conquer the M-series to become the first-ever Filipino team to snag an ML:BB world title.

But just like any other MPL champion team that came before them, the MPL PH Season Six title went crashing down in the following season – proving once again that ML:BB dominance will only last for a short amount of time.

This until Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario laid out the blueprint and led Blacklist International to one of the most, if not the most, dominant runs that the scene has ever seen.

“Ginawa ko rin pong motivation yung V33Wise po kasi parang dati kasi wala pang nag-dominate talaga e. After champion, parang matik na yun e hihina talaga kayo. Pero nung nakita ko sa kanila, parang kaya pala,” KarlTzy said after ECHO’s opening day win against Blacklist International.

Together, the V33Wise duo helped Blacklist International become the winningest ML:BB team in the land, taking home an unprecedented three MPL titles in the Philippines and making it to two consecutive M-series trips while also winning one in the process.

With V33Wise and the rest of the Tier One-backed squad setting up the path, KarlTzy said that he is using the duo’s historic run as motivation as he tries to lead ECHO to a championship streak of their own.

ECHO, who was coming off a title run in the M4 World Championship where they defeated the same team via sweep in the grand finals, opened their Season 11 campaign with a rousing 2-0 sweep of the new-look Blacklist International.

KarlTzy said that Blacklist International’s performance was far from their recent showings but he also said that this loss will give their rookies Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo and Red “Super Red” Bordeos their much-needed experience moving forward.

“Mas humina po syempre kasi nawala yung dalawang veteran e pero malaking experience ‘to para sa dalawang bago nila.”
