ECHO, RSG PH confirm participation in Sibol’s phase one tryouts

ECHO and RSG PH have confirmed their participation in phase one of the Sibol Mobile Legends: Bang Bang National team, Tuesday afternoon.

The development was confirmed by ECHO country manager Mitch Liwanag and RSG PH head coach Brian “Panda” Lim in separate interviews with Tiebreaker Times.

Just an hour ago, Sibol released the four teams that received direct invitations to the second phase of the tryouts.

The top four teams in the previous MPL season, namely Blacklist International, ONIC PH, Omega Esports, and Nexplay EVOS will await for the top four teams of the first phase.

With this, ECHO and RSG PH, along with Bren Esports and TNC, if they choose to compete, will have to go through the open qualifiers which will feature hundreds of amateur teams.

“Dipende sa gagawin ni Sibol, if best-of-three medyo malaki yung chance namin pero if best-of-one, lasunan talaga,” Liwanag told Tiebreaker Times.

Both teams respectfully declined to reveal their respective rosters for the upcoming tryouts.

Tiebreaker Times already reached out to Bren Esports and TNC to confirm their participation but have yet to get a response as of posting time.

Bren Esports houses the core of the 2019 SEA Games team that won gold in Manila. These are Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel, Allan “Lusty” Castromayor, and CJ “Ribo” Ribo.
