Rallying behind key plays from Johanne Juico and Joshua Gumaro, the seven-man Filipino squad dropped the opening set, 3-5, before dominating the next two, 5-3 and 7-2.
Sibol clinched its quarterfinal berth with a 1-2 record in Group A, overcoming a difficult start that saw the Filipinos suffer a 0-2 loss to Thailand and fall to Chinese Taipei in their opening match.
Meanwhile, Indonesia, led by Daffa Arafan, was eliminated after suffering three consecutive losses.
Joining the Philippines in advancing from Group A are Thailand and Chinese Taipei. Malaysia, Hong Kong, and South Korea secured the three quarterfinal berths from Group B.
Sibol will face Malaysia in the quarterfinals at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
