Fresh off their M4 World Championship conquest, Echo was expected to perform in the Sibol qualifiers but hit a wall in Bren Esports who swept them on the way to taking first place in the tournament.
Despite the loss, the team reached the Sibol Combine and two players actually got offers by Bren Coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro to join the Southeast Asian Games squad.
But due to conflicts in schedule with the MPL Philippines build-up, Echo had to beg off.
Assistant Coach Robert “Trebor” Sanchez echoed the sentiments and expressed concern for his wards’ safety given the training schedule.
Baka madreain yung bata tapos baka pamano pa sila,” he said.
According to Trebor, one player was initially invited by Duckey as part of the main five of the Sibol MLBB squad. After the latter begged off, another Echo player was also invited to be Sibol’s sixth man.
“Ayaw magpa-sixth man.
