Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog played big as Execration set an all-Filipino grand finals showdown with Blacklist International after taking down MPL Indonesia champion EVOS Legends via a 3-1 victory in the lower bracket finals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup, Sunday afternoon.
The Jomie “Pakbet” Abalos-coached squad will try to avenge its loss against the Tier One-backed squad in the recently-concluded MPL-Philippines Season Seven grand finals.
Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog’s Grock and Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic’s Pharsa led a successful siege in Game Four entering the 15-minute mark allowed Execration to eliminate the Indonesians.
Duane “Kelra” Pillas’ was the focal point of the offense with seven kills and three assists against just one death in the 19-9 win in 14 minutes and 43 seconds.
Kelra’s Godlike Lunox keyed Execration’s dominant Game One victory over the Indonesian kings. The Execration rookie outplayed his counterpart all throughout the match, completely eliminating the late-game potential of EVOS Legends.
He put up monster numbers of 15 kills and eight assists against three deaths in the 32-13 victory in just 14 minutes and 56 seconds of game time.
Execration once again annihilated their Indonesian foes, only this time it was Ch4knu’s signature Grock special who spearheaded the win.
Ch4knu dished out a game-high 18 assists in the lopsided 26-7 Game Two victory along with a kill and a death. He led Execration’s aggressive play-style which revolved around his Grock and E2MAX’s Luo Yi.
Not wanting to go down without a fight, the 1-2 punch of Peryansyah “Ferxiic” Kamaruddin and Maxhill “Antimage” Leonardo brought out their signature heroes in Game Four to extend the series.
Antimage was named the MVP with nine kills and three assists against two deaths while Ferxiic, who dealt most of the damage for EVOS, had six kills, five deaths, and eight assists in the 21-17 win.
