Dani Ravena out for Ateneo-La Salle tiff

Rookie libero Dani Ravena will miss Saturday’s Ateneo-La Salle clash after undergoing an appendectomy early Tueday.

According to numerous reports and an Ateneo official who spoke to Tiebreaker Times, Ravena suffered from stomach pain after the Lady Eagles’ morning practice.

“It happened just this morning sa practice nila. Noong practice nila, nagreklamo siya na sumasakit yung tiyan n’ya so she went to the clinic sa Ateneo,” said Ravena’s father, former PBA star Bong Ravena.

“When I got there yun na dinala ko na siya sa ER (sa Marikina Valley Hospital) so yun dire-diretso na inoperahan na siya, tinanggal na.”

The 17-year-old libero had been starting for the Lady Eagles this season, taking on receiving duties while Ateneo’s other libero Ria Lo tagged in for digging. The Lady Eagles have two other liberos in the lineup in Sydney Eleazar and Ann Baguiwet.

The Lady Eagles will also be without head coach Tai Bundit in a rematch of the last six UAAP Finals as well.
