Cha Cruz-Behag admits she is still far from ‘Ms. Everything’ form

Cha Cruz-Behag made her much-anticipated return to F2 Logistics on Tuesday night.

The Cargo Movers turned back a red-hot PLDT in five sets, 25-22, 25-21, 14-25, 20-25, 16-14, to give Cruz-Behag a winning debut in her first taste of professional volleyball in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.

The 34-year-old Cruz-Behag, who subbed in during the third set and started the next two, finished with three points in her return to action four years since she last played competitively.

Cruz-Behag said that she is still in the process of getting back to her competitive form. She last played for the Cargo Movers in the 2018 Philippine Super Liga season before taking a break after giving birth to her son.

“Personally, it’s a process.

“Di naman overnight na, ‘Ah four years nawala pero nandiyan na.’ Pero alam ko ang dami ko ring errors sa loob. I think I still need to double time everyday which is I’m really trying my best everyday, every training na makabalik,” said Behag.

The Cargo Movers opened the match strong, grabbing the first two sets from the High Speed Hitters to take a commanding 2-0 advantage. F2 Logistics, however, failed to capitalize as PLDT went on to take the third and fourth sets to tie the match.

As tough as it was, Cruz-Behag said that it was a great experience for the Cargo Movers as they got to see the areas that they need to improve on moving forward.PVL-2023-PLDT-vs.-F2-Cha-Cruz-Behag-0252 Cha Cruz-Behag admits she is still far from 'Ms. Everything' form News PVL Volleyball - philippine sports news

“Well, as a team we feel like it’s a good challenge for us kung ano ‘man yung mapapakita namin, kung ano pa yung dapat namin i-improve, dami pa naming kailangan i-polish as a team. Happy kami, a win is a win pero syempre ang dami pa naming lapses na kailangan naming i-improve,” said the four-time UAAP champion.

“This is just the start of the conference ang dami pa naming pagdadaanan, ang dami pang mga kalaban and yeah, continue rin kami to guide everyday kung ano ‘man yung kailangan namin i-improve as a team,” she added.

F2 Logistics head coach Regine Diego said that she’s very glad to have someone like Cruz-Behag and Aby Marano in her team that can lead the team, especially in crucial moments like the one they figured in against PLDT.

“Of all the people in F2, the longest… yung pinakamatagal kong nakasama is syempre Cha and Aby and I trust na they know what to do because they are mature already, they have the leadership skills so tama yung napili ko sa crucial points kasi alam kong magli-lead sila,” said Diego.

“Kapag na-lead ng maayos yung team, doon lalabas talaga na maayos yung team so I’m happy na I have so many leaders in my team.”
