Ex-TNC hard support Marvin “Boomy” Rushton, who entered free agency last Wednesday, was the first player to get signed by an organization after getting picked up by Polaris Esports, Thursday evening.
“We are excited to finally share with everyone that our roster is now complete with the arrival of our friend and captain, Marvin “Boomy” Rushton,” said Polaris Esports in a statement.
The veteran position-five player will be reuniting with his former Adroit teammates John “Natsumi-” Vargas, Bryle “cml” Alvizo, Mc Nicholson “Mac” Villanueva, and Nikko “Nikko” Bilacura in the organization headed by former PBA player Khasim Mirza.
Boomy, who already played with the squad as a stand-in in the BTS Pro Series Season Eight, is looking to recreate the magic they did back in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games where everyone, except Nikko, snagged the gold medal.
“This roster is indeed similar to their previous Adroit squad which came to an abrupt end,” said Mirza. “We as an organization together with the team felt that this was an unfinished business and believed could’ve gone further. So here we are under a new name and management but with the same goals.
“There are no shortcuts and we will surely work from the ground up to represent not just the Bisaya/Vis-Min Dota but as a Filipino squad too. Become a top SEA team and be able to reach new heights in the international scene and finally compete in TI. Above all odds, we will soon reach our goals together with our fans and the PH Dota 2 community.”
The squad is setting its sights on the next Dota Pro Circuit season.
