Sibol DOTA 2 nab IESF Asian Championship crown

Sibol Dota 2 swept Myanmar, 2-0, to bag the championship title in the Gamers8 IESF Asian Championship 2023 in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

The DOTA 2 national team got off to a good start in the playoffs after they swept Jordan, 2-0, in the upper bracket semi-finals but fell short in the next stage where they suffered a 2-0 beatdown at the hands of Myanmar.

After putting down their last life-line in the lower bracket finals, Sibol managed to sweep Mongolia, 2-0, to force a rematch against Myanmar in the grand finals.

It was then that the Philippines went all the way, as they powered through Myanmar with 2-0 sweep, to earn the championship title.

Sibol DOTA 2 Team is composed of Marvin “Boomy” Rushton, Bryle “cml” Alvizo, Jun “Bok” Kanehara, Eljohn Andales, Mc “Mac” Villanueva, and Coach Josef Leonard Brazal.

Team Sibol Dota 2, as well as Sibol ML, will be heading to Romania to represent the Philippines at the IESF World Esports Championship slated August 25 to November 3. (Jan Marcus Montevirgen)
