IESF: SIBOL ML top Asia & Oceania Qualifiers

Sibol ML added another title in their collection after defeating Mongolia, 3-0, in the grand finals of the IESF World Esports Championship 2023 – Asia & Oceania Qualifiers in Saudi Arabia on Friday.

The Filipinos asserted their mastery of Mongolia whom they took down via a 2-1 victory in the upper bracket finals. They only lost one game all throughout the tournament to complete an almost flawless performance.

Just like in Game 1 of their upper bracket match-up, Sibol dominated all throughout as Angelo Arcangel (Joy) successfully zoned out the Mongolians while David Canon (Lapu-Lapu) provided the kills courtesy of nifty backline attacks.

The duo combined for six kills and eight assists in the opening victory to lead Sibol’s 11-3 domination on the scoreboard.

It was the Marco Stephen (Beatrix) Requitiano show in Game 2 as he catapulted his squad to match point by exploding for eight kills, one assist against one death.

In Game 3, Kyle Sayson (Fredrin) led the way taking three kills and 14 assists while Owgien Unigo (Grock) added a kill and 15 assists in a 13-minute series-clinching victory.

Sibol will head to Romania for the IESF World Esports Championship 2023 commencing on August 25 to November 3. (Jan Marcus Montevirgen)
