Extending their strong start from the opening weekend, the University of Santo Tomas Golden Spikers mauled hosts University of the East Red Warriors in two sets, 21-16, and 21-12, in only twenty-eight minutes.
The statuesque duo of Kris Roy Guzman and Mark Alfarara had no problem getting their spikes to fall against UE’s Carlo Almario and Edward Composano, who struggled to find a way to block UST’s blitz. UST errors would help UE keep pace with their aggressive opponents, but the win would go to the spikers from Esapana.

Capitalizing on faulty blocking from the hosts University of the East Red Warriors, the defending champions National University Bulldogs cruised to their third win, after catching their opponents flat-footed to take a two set win, 21-15, and 21-13.
The veteran duo of reigning MVP Edwin Tolentino and Josephenry Tipay turned back the hard hitting services of UE’s Edward Composano and Carlo Almario, closing out the first set in a mere fifteen minutes. Though Composano and Almario would return in the second set barring the same level of ferocity, the NU would take control of the game’s flow, forcing their opponents to error after error while making sure to score on the attack. With the Warriors unable to find a way to wrest control of the game away from their opponents, the defending champions would close out the day with another game under the win column.
