Team Liquid Philippines and Bennedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales have parted ways, marking the end of their four-year partnership.
The announcement was made on Friday evening through the team’s social media accounts.
After Team Liquid acquired ECHO in Season 13, Bennyqt and the squad had a strong start, reclaiming the MPL Philippines title with a dominant 4-0 sweep over Falcons AP.Bren (now AP.Bren) in the grand finals.
However, their momentum faltered at the MSC 2024, where they fell short in the semifinals, losing 1-3 to FCAP and finishing in third place.
In Season 14, they were dethroned by Aurora in the Play-Ins, suffering a narrow 2-3 defeat and settling for a 5th-6th place finish.
Bennyqt’s rise as a professional MLBB player began in earnest when Aura rebranded as ECHO in Season 8.
The 23-year-old gold laner played a crucial role in ECHO’s historic M4 World Championship run, where they secured their first-ever international title with a commanding 4-0 sweep over Blacklist International in the grand finals. Bennyqt was named Finals MVP for his outstanding performance.
Following their world championship triumph, ECHO continued their dominance in MPL PH Season 11, once again defeating Blacklist International 4-0 in the grand finals to claim their first local championship.
However, Season 12 saw a setback, as ECHO fell to the Tier One-backed squad in the lower bracket finals with a 1-3 loss, finishing in third place.
Bennyqt first joined the organization under the Aura Philippines banner in MPL Philippines Season 7, helping the team secure a commendable third-place finish.
