B.League: Javi GDL benched again by Ibaraki; Thirdy, Dwight still in quarantine


For the second straight game, Javi Gomez de Liano was not fielded by Ibaraki, who was dealt an 81-86 setback at the hands of Kyoto in the 2021-22 B.League season, Saturday at Kyoto City Gymnasium.

This is the fourth time this season that Gomez de Liano has been benched.

Moreover, the former University of the Philippines product had yet to play more than 10 minutes over the last seven games.

The Hannaryz rose to 8-27 while dropping the Robots to a 7-28 slate.

Six players scored in double-digits for Kyoto with Kazuki Hosokawa got 18 points while Justin Harper and Tatsuya Suzuki got 17 and 16 points, respectively.

Yuya Nagayoshi, Jerome Tillman, and Jotaro Mitsuda all had 10 points each as well. Tillman also grabbed 12 rebounds.

Chehales Tapscott led the way for Ibaraki with 31 points and 10 rebounds while Eric Jacobsen tallied 15 points and 14 rebounds.

San-En and Toyama, meanwhile, are still waiting for Thirdy Ravena and Dwight Ramos, respectively.

The Grouses (15-22) lost to the Shibuya Sunrockers (21-15), 78-91, at the Toyama City Gymnasium while the NeoPhoenix (5-29) fell to the Alvark Tokyo (24-8), 62-87, at the Toyohashi City Gymnasium.
