Andy Gemao is set for a life-changing opportunity as the high-flying 6-foot guard receives an invitation to participate in the 8th annual Basketball Without Borders Global Camp.
Scheduled from February 16 to 18 at the Mojo Up Sports Complex in Indianapolis, Indiana, the 17-year-old Gemao is the third Filipino to be part of the NBA’s All-Star Weekend events, following AJ Edu in 2018 and Kai Sotto in 2020.
Currently in the Philippines after playing for Veritas Prep, Gemao will engage in various activities during the camp, guided by current and former NBA and WNBA players and coaches, including Joakim Noah and Detlef Schrempf.
The final day will feature a ceremony to recognize outstanding campers with awards such as the Kim Bohuny Camp MVP, Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award, Three-Point Champion, Defensive MVP, and Playoff MVP.
The campers will also attend the 73rd NBA All-Star Game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Gemao, who previously participated in the BWB Asia Camp, joins other Asian talents like Japan’s Riku Segawa and Israel’s Ben Saraf and Shon Abaev.
