UPDATE: Valdez receives ITC

Could Alyssa Valdez make her TVL debut?

According to Larong Volleyball ng Pilipinas, Incorporated’s acting president Peter Cayco, the NSA has been working on getting Alyssa Valdez her ITC.

Valdez is set to make her debut for 3BB Nakornmont in the Thailand Volleyball League today but, according to Valdez’s camp, she has yet to secure her International Transfer Certificate.

Cayco, on his part, clarified that he had been in contact with Valdez regarding securing the ITC since the three-time Philippine V-League MVP had left for Thailand last January 15.

Needing both her contract with the Thai club team and passport, Valdez had only passed her passport initially. Her contract was sent by her representatives to the LVPI only three days ago according to Cayco.

“I contacted the TVA [Thailand Volleyball Association] twice, saying that she is cleared to play. I told Alyssa that we needed both her passport and contract with her club team. She was able to pass her passport. Pero ‘yung contract we only got from her club only two days ago,” Cayco told Tiebreaker Times.

As of press time, Cayco vows that Valdez’s registration is already being processed by the FIVB.

“I have a friend who I’ve been contacting in Switzerland. He says he’s been trying all possible means to get it done. I’m sure things will get done,” Arellano University’s representative to the NCAA’s Management Committee said

Valdez will need to secure the ITC before 4:30pm (Philippine time), Sunday.

Second update: As of 12:15pm
