After M4 defeat, OhMyV33nus vows: ‘This is still not the last of us’

Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna vowed to come back strong after Blacklist International fell short in its bid to become the first back-to-back champion in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship, Sunday night.

The Tier One-backed squad was on track to write history but was stunned by ECHO, 4-0, in the grand finals at the Tennis Indoor Senayan.

OhMyV33NUS, who skipped the mandatory handshake line along with Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario, penned a heartfelt piece addressing the loss just hours after the harrowing defeat to their local rivals.

“Ngayon palang nagsi-sink in yung mga nangyari at itong pakiramdam na ‘to, sobrang pamilyar sakin. Yung feeling na gusto mong umiyak pero wala nang luha na lumalabas,” said OhMyV33NUS, who lost in two consecutive finals appearances before winning the first of her three MPL PH titles.

“Siguro nga dahil maraming beses na din kaming napunta sa ganitong point, at sa sobrang daming beses, parang manhid na ako,” she continued.

After winning the M3 World Championship, Wise and OhMyV33NUS decided to skip the MPL Philippines Season Nine to take a much-deserved breather and prepare for their title-retention bid in the M4 World Championship.

The power duo came back and kick-started their historic bid with a bang, reaching the finals of Season 10 and eventually taking down ECHO to qualify for the fourth edition of the M-series in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Blacklist International – who was coming off a silver finish in the 14th IESF World Championship – went through a roller coaster ride in the group stage of the world tilt, losing twice to Falcon Esports before eventually sweeping their way to the grand finals.

The team, though, seemed like it ran out of gas in the finale as they lost four lopsided games.

Despite it all, OhMyV33NUS still made sure to express her utmost gratitude to her fans for their never-ending support and trust.

“Pero despite of all these things, I still feel blessed dahil sa sobrang daming taong sumuporta sa amin, hindi lang sa Pilipinas, pati na din sa buong mundo, lalo yung mga nagpunta dito sa Indonesia at talagang nakipag-beklaban ng malala sa fans ng ibang team,” said OhMyV33NUS.

“Super thankful ako sa lahat ng mga taong hindi tumigil at patuloy pa rin na nagtitiwala sa mga kakayahan namin,” she added.

After this setback, the reigning MPL PH MVP promised to absorb everything and come back stronger in the next MPL cycle.

“Grace under defeat. With this, I will make sure that we will come back stronger than ever. And again, this is still not the last of us.”
