Adamson HS gains another Fil-Kiwi in 6-2 guard Andre Bautista

Pinoy Mavs NZ might have found a home in Adamson High School.

Days after 6-foot-8 Jireh Tumaneng committed to the Baby Falcons program starting UAAP Season 86, another Fil-Kiwi in 6-foot-2 guard Andre Bautista also committed to enrolling in the school.

The development was announced by Fil-NZ Nation Select.

Just like Tumaneng, Bautista is a product of Westlake Boys High School.

However, the 16-year-old guard will only transfer to Adamson during the 2024-25 academic year (Season 87).

Still, Soaring Falcons head coach Nash Racela is glad that prospects are starting to look at Adamson as early as their junior years.

“This is a breakthrough for us.

“Adamson is blessed to have received the commitment of both Jireh and Andre, despite them having offers from many established programs. They know their priorities, and they believe that this is where they will have the most opportunity to develop and grow as players and as mature individuals,” said the UAAP champion coach.

“We are grateful to their parents and coaches in New Zealand, who have advised them well in making this decision. We look forward to assisting Jireh and Andre in reaching their full potential,” he continued, thanking Pinoy Mavs head coach Manu Hoque.

During the 2023 SMART-NBTC National Finals, he averaged 6.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in three games played.

Bautista will be part of the class of 2027.
