AcroCity has pledged full support for the Negros Basketball Association Invitational Basketball Tournament, set to take place on Feb. 22 at the Po Hang Gym of Tay Tung School in Bacolod City.
The event—dubbed AcroCity Presents NBA Legends Cup—will bring together some of Negros’ most prominent basketball figures, including former Ginebra star Noli Locsin, Bong Ravena, and the Villarias brothers, Vernie and Victor. These legends once showcased their talents in major collegiate and amateur leagues before making their mark in the PBA.
“We are more than glad to be part of this momentous event, where Negros legends will once again display the talent that made them stars in various leagues,” said Angelo Wongchuking, executive vice president of Czark Mak Group, the developer of AcroCity, a rising lifestyle hub in Bulacan and Central Luzon.
AcroCity is envisioned as the region’s newest destination, offering a dynamic living and leisure experience for both residents and visitors.
“We have a lot of friends from Negros who played for my team before, including Victor Villarias,” Wongchuking added.
Like his older brother Vernie, Victor played for the University of the East in the UAAP before continuing his career in the PBL.
“We know how much these players are missed by their families, friends, and fans, so we’re happy to support this reunion game and bring joy to everyone,” said CZM Director Keith Wongchuking Jr.
The event is also supported by Upgrade, Apir, and Sapporo and will honor the founding officials of the Negros Basketball Association, led by the late Dodong Bascon.
As a way of giving back to the community that has supported them throughout their careers, the NBA legends have made the reunion game free for the public to enjoy.
