De La Salle University swept Ateneo de Manila University, 3-0, in the upper bracket finals to move on to the grand finale of the Call of Duty Mobile Alliance Games by AcadArena, Sunday.
Viridis Arcus is the second La Salle team to book a seat in the CONQuest Festival event of AcadArena which will feature the finals of the Alliance Games after its Valorant squad defeated Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology earlier in the day.
La Salle booked a 250-212 win in Hardpoint (Slums) and a 7-3 win in Search and Destroy at Takeoff. The team then sealed the door shut with a tight 150-144 win in Domination at the Firing Range.
Down the lower bracket, Far Eastern University-Institute of Technology bucked a hiccup in Game Three to complete a 3-1 victory over College of Saint Benilde while Polytechnic University of the Philippines was awarded a default win in Game Two of its 3-1 win over Malayan Colleges Laguna.
FIT Dasig put up an early 2-0 lead before VPR Eclipse mounted a come-from-behind win in Domination (Firing Range) to keep its tournament hopes alive. The former eventually bagged the win in Game Four by way of a 250-110 domination in Hardpoint (Slums).
On the other hand, the Malayan Warlocks were on the verge of taking a 2-0 advantage over the Pylon Phantoms but were deemed disqualified in Game Two after a player used the Quick Fix perk which is banned in the tournament format. PUP rode its momentum from there, clinching a 150-105 win in Domination (Summit) and a 250-124 win in Hardpoint (Firing Range), respectively, to get the win.
Ateneo will take on the winner of the FIT-PUP lower bracket semifinals in the losers’ finale. La Salle, on the other hand, is already set in the CONQuest grand finals on July 23 and will face the winner of the lower bracket finals.
