Abed staying put with Evil Geniuses

It looks like Abed “Abed” Yusop is staying with the Evil Geniuses.

According to the Majors and Minors registration page, the top North American squad already locked the services of the Filipino superstar last Monday for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit 2021-22 Season.

The Evil Geniuses are also retaining Artour “Arteezy” Babaev and Andreas “Cr1t” Nielsen.

The Evil Geniuses came into The International 10 as the heavy favorites alongside Chinese squad PSG.LGD.

The team, however, had a rough start to the tourney, falling to the lower bracket after finishing sixth in Group A. The Evil Geniuses then took out Elephant in the best-of-one opening round of the lower bracket.

Unfortunately, the TI4 champions fell to Vici Gaming in the following round via a 1-2 result. They ended the tournament at a disappointing 9th-12th place finish.

Yesterday, former team captain Tal “Fly” Aizik’s departure was officially announced. He bolted to the Southeast Asia region – spearheading Talon Esports’ first venture in the Dota 2 scene.

There, Fly will join another Filipino star and Abed’s good friend Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte, who left TNC last September after a three-year tenure.

Meanwhile, offlaner Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang’s status with the team remains uncertain.

NA Dota 2 will begin on November 30, Tuesday.
