2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

9 Gilas players, 4 Australians ejected, game resumes with 3 Filipinos


After 40 minutes of deliberation, the three officials presiding over the Gilas Pilipinas versus Australian Boomers tiff disqualified 13 players from the game.

Officials Ahmed Al Bulushi of Oman, Hatim Alharbi of Saudi Arabia, and Paul Skayem of Lebanon disqualified Nathan Sobey, Chris Goulding, Thon Maker and Daniel Kickert.

On the other hand, Terrence Romeo, Carl Cruz, Jayson Castro, Calvin Abueva, Andray Blatche, Roger Pogoy, Troy Rosario, Japeth Aguilar, and Matthew Wright were all sent to the locker room.

With this, the game resumed, with Baser Amer, June Mar Fajardo, and Gabe Norwood left to fight for flag and country.
