Bulacan swept its matches held at the San Leonardo Gym in Nueva Ecija last weekend in the National Basketball League-Philippines.
The Bulacan Makabayan beat the home team Nueva Ecija Go Bespren, 94-86, last Saturday, and defeated the Rizal Spartans, 70-65, last Sunday to improve their record to 3-2 and climb to third place in the standings.
Joseph Celso had 20 points, 16 rebounds, and two blocks in the Makabayan’s win over the Go Bespren last Saturday. He also contributed 10 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocks during the match against the Spartans last Sunday.
In other matches, Krushev Ferrer had 20 points as Nueva Ecija picked up the win on its home court last Sunday with an 84-82 win over the Paranaque Aces to improve its record to 2-4 after last weekend’s games.
Noy Bermudes finished with 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists to give Paranaque a 76-68 win over Rizal last Saturday as the Aces (3-2) gained a share of third place with Bulacan and Taguig at the end of last weekend’s games.
Rizal slipped to 1-5 after losing all its matches in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija, which also hosted a basketball clinic for kids presided by NBL commissioner Nandy Garcia.
