Jerry Yee steps down as UP head coach

After steering the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons out of the doldrums of the UAAP, head coach Jerry Yee announced, on his personal Facebook account earlier today, his decision to leave the Diliman-based program.

According to tweets from Josiah Albelda, the Hope Christian High School mentor will officially depart from UP on Monday.

Yee was instrumental in several key moments for the UP program. Coming in at UAAP Season 76, Yee oversaw UP’s steady climb up the UAAP ladder, culminating with a Final Four appearance in Season 78.

Perhaps most importantly, Yee recruited Isa Molda, Diana Carlos, Justine Dorog, Arielle Estrañero, and Maristella Layug, all of whom form the current core of the UP program.
