Valdez, Santiago headline SEA Games, Asian Seniors team

The final 12-woman roster of the Philippine Team that will compete in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games and Asian Women’s Seniors Championship this August came with few surprises.

Four-time Premier Volleyball League MVP Alyssa Valdez and the towering Jaja Santiago are the biggest names on the list, while 2016 PSA Ms. Volleyball Mika Reyes will serve as the squad’s skipper.

Three-time UAAP Best Setter Kim Fajardo; Cocolife’s defensive ace Denden Lazaro; former UAAP MVP and F2 Logistics star Aby Maraño; current Petron playmaker Rhea Dimaculangan; opposite spiker Aiza Maizo-Pontillas; former PSL MVP Jovelyn Gonzaga; former PSL Best Opposite Hitter Ces Molina; and Generika middle blocker Geneveve Casugod round out the roster.

National Team veteran Rachel Daquis and 2016 PSL All-Filipino Cup MVP Dawn Macandili made the lineup as reserves.
