Short-handed F2 Logistics deals Cignal HD first loss

Missing two key locals and an import, the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers still had enough in their arsenal to take down the Cignal HD Spikers, 26-24, 21-25, 25-21, 25-14, in the 2019 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The Cargo Movers were without Lindsay Stalzer, who was finishing up her season in Thailand; and locals Cha Cruz-Behag and Kianna Dy, both of whom were dealing with injuries.

F2 Logistics used their surgical precision to outlast the full-force HD Spikers. The Cargo Movers tallied 12 aces to Cignal’s six. They also gave up just 24 errors while Cignal piled up 31.

“Sabi ko kasi animan lang ‘yung volleyball, kung sino ang gusto manalo doon naka-depende. Cover lang ‘yung mga weak point noong nasa loob,” said three-time PSL champion coach Ramil De Jesus.

“Alam natin na under-height tayo. Magsipag lang tayo sa baba. Kailangan lang din na mas maging wise kami sa service,” he added.

F2 Logistics’ American import Becky Perry tallied 22 points, while opposite hitter Michelle Morente added 15.

Erica Wilson’s 29-point outing went for naught as Cignal dropped their first match.

The Cargo Movers (1-0) next face the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors (1-1), while Cignal (0-1) take on the PLDT Home Fibr Ultra Fast Hitters (0-1) on Thursday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.
