Two-time Most Valuable Player James Yap showed up in street clothes on Friday and appeared to be getting better based on the way he walks. He missed his second straight game, but assured fans he won’t be gone for long.
“Hindi pa kaya ngayon. Huwag natin ipilit,” Yap told Tiebreaker Times. “Pero next game, balik na ako niyan.”
According to Yap, he had been attending the team’s practices to work on his conditioning and strength.
“Wala pa akong five-on-five, pero nagwo-workout ako para makundisyon,” added Yap. “Ayaw kong magpahinga kaya lahat ng pwede gawin para bumalik kundisyon ginagawa ko.”
Yap suffered a calf injury which prevented him from playing against San Miguel Beer the last time around.
On Friday, Marc Pingris returned to action after four practices with the squad.
