Razor’s road to redemption continues
Randy Petalcorin (24-2-1, 18KO) is set to return to the squared circle on Sunday, December 4, taking on Arnold Garde (7-3-2, 3KO) for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific Light Flyweight belt at the Robinson’s Mall Atrium in General Santos City.
For the 24-year-old, this is his second fight since his controversial loss to Omari Kimweri in Australia earlier this year. Prior to the Kimweri bout, Petalcorin had copped the interim WBA World Light Flyweight title last April 2015
Petalcorin shared that he has already moved on from the controversy. Moreover, he is motivated to fight once again now that he is set to become a father.
“I needed time off from the robbery. I got discouraged but I’m moving on and I’m working twice harder because I will become a father next year,” said Petalcorin. “I used that as my learning experience.”
“You will see a better Randy Petalcorin. Nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat mga sumusuporta sa akin lalo na yung mga fans. Randy Petalcorin is back!”
His opponent, Garde, is coming off a victory against Ian Ligutan to capture the Philippines Mindanao Boxing Federation (MinProBA) title three months ago.
Former WBC International Silver super featherweight champion Eden Sonsona will also be appearing on the card. He will be taking on journeyman Jaime Barcelona.
