During the pre-game warmup, Bernadeth Pons felt a snap in her left ankle. The coaching staff tried to alleviate the pain through taping, but it was not enough.

Pons could not help but cry. However, she said it had been mostly out of frustration since she would not be able to help the team. “Nung umiyak ako, parang gusto na rin nilang umiyak,” she shared.

The former Palarong Pambansa Best Attacker, however, feels that FEU can bounce back in time for Game 2, with or without her.
