F2 Logistics impressive in opening day rout of San Jose Builders

The F2 Logistics Cargo Movers outclassed the young New San Jose Builders Victorias 25-23, 25-10, 25-4 in the opening day of the Philippine SuperLiga Invitational at the FilOil Flying V Centre earlier today.

The veteran Cargo Movers-squad showed cohesion right from the start of the match. As their younger foes faltered, F2 rolled to set point quickly, 24-18. San Jose, however, suddenly came to life, rattling off five straight points and nearly forcing a deuce. Late acquisition, Aby Maraño saved F2, scoring on a quick play to seal the set.

By the second set, San Jose lost all momentum. F2 wound up taking the match without any resistance in the last two sets.

“Medyo kabado din ‘yung kalaban namin so sa tingin ko hindi pa kami masyadong natetest,” said F2 head coach Mayi Prochina. “Mahaba pa ‘yung season so hopefully mas makakapag-gel pa kami.”

SWU standout Danika Gendrauli led the Cargo Movers with 10 points while Pau Soriano and Liley Mabbayad had eight points apiece.

Maribeth Lara had eight points for San Jose who are compromised mostly of Perpetual Help Lady Altas.

F2 Logistics and New San Jose Builders will both have their next matches on Saturday at the Malolos Sports Complex. F2 Logistics will face the Army Lady Troopers while the Victorias will take on the Foton Toplander.
