The Alaska Aces and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel kept their hot streak going in the PBA Dickies 3-on-3 women’s tournament with easy wins Friday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Ginebra defeated Star Hotshots, 13-3, to move to 3-0 in Group A, tying also unbeaten Blackwater Elite. The Hotshots fell to 0-3.
An Angeli Gloriani two and Mix Bautista basket pushed Ginebra’s lead to 11-2 before Regina Castillo broke the dry spell with a layup inside.
But Mary Joy Galicia scored two more baskets for Ginebra as the team moved on to win, 13-3.
Alaska then dominated the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 15-4, to gain a share of top spot in Group B, joining NLEX as both teams have 3-0 records. Rain or Shine remained winless at 0-3.
The Aces got off to a quick 9-0 start that included Banjo Soriano scoring all but one of Alaska’s first five points.
Richelyn Badajos got the Elasto Painters on the board with a layup although Rica Francisco and April Siat took turns in finishing the match quickly, 15-4.
Both Alaska and Ginebra moved closer to a semi-finals berth. Only the top two teams in each group advance to the crossover semi-finals.
