Tubu atones for semifinals debut as she powers Farm Fresh to stunner

After struggling in her semifinals debut, Trisha Tubu bounced back with a clutch performance to help Farm Fresh stay in the Finals hunt in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.

Tubu proved to be an unstoppable force as she powered the Foxies to a bounce-back win over the PLDT High Speed Hitters, 25-23, 18-25, 25-19, 25-23, to remain alive in the round-robin semifinals.

The 25-year-old winger delivered a game-high 28 points on 26 attacks and two kill blocks, alongside eight excellent digs, and spearheaded the comeback in the fourth frame to seal the win and level Farm Fresh’s semis record at 1-1.

It was a stark turnaround from her 13-point outing in their 25-23, 14-25, 11-25, 12-25 loss to Cignal to open their post-season bid.

“Unang-una po siguro yung tiwala nila sa akin. Yun ’yung ayaw kong masira, and ’yung last game na ’yon hindi ako nakapag-perform nang maayos. Ngayon, gustong-gusto ko talagang bumawi, and binigyan ako ng chance bumawi,” said the four-time Best Opposite Spiker.

Tubu also came through when it mattered most, firing five of the team’s last seven points as they erased an 18-22 deficit in the fourth set, including the game-winning cross-court hit that sealed the comeback.

“Yung crucial part, yung pa-ending ng game, sobrang thankful ako sa coaches at mga kasama ko. Yung trust talaga, kahit anong mangyari, hindi nila ako pinabayaan kaya total team effort talaga ’tong game na ’to—super,” said the former Adamson star.

The clutch finish also saw Tubu credit her teammates for the trust they showed throughout the match, allowing her to play freely and perform at her best in the crucial moments.

“As a team, talagang ginusto namin manalo at matapos yung game na panalo. Ang sarap din maglaro pag may nagtitiwala sa’yo—talagang as one kami kanina,” said the former UAAP Rookie of the Year.

“Ang sarap maglaro na kahit anong palo mo, nandyan sila lagi nagre-remind na, ‘Pumalo ka lang diyan, nandito kami sa likod mo.’ Yung ganung klaseng backup, ang sarap sa feeling nun so wala akong ibang iniintindi. Yung ganung motivation, di ko kayang sayangin yung ganung chance.”
