After a shocking 1st day loss against FEU, Four-time defending champions DLSU bounced back, winning against NU with a 3.5-1.5 result. Fronda and Galas finally removed the season jitters with board wins, while Mejia was tied with FEU’s Bermundo.
FEU recorded their 2nd win this season with a 3-1 triumph over UE. FEU is showing the promise that they will be one of the top contenders for this year’s championship.
UP, DLSU’s consistent opponent, finally won, 2-5-1.5 over Adamson, while UST and Ateneo ended Day 2 with a tie: 2 wins and 2 losses apiece.
After Day 2, FEU still leads DLSU with a 0.5 MP (match point) advantage. The defending champions, however, hold the higher SBFIDE over the Morayta-based squad (24 as compared to 15.50). DLSU yielded to FEU during Day 1 because of a miscommunication among the coaches and players, as shared by a DLSU assistant coach.
UST and NU clings to the 3rd and 4th spot, respectively.
“It will be a matter of time before the other schools make good adjustments. We need to give DLSU a run for their money”, an anonymous coach shared.
