F2 Logistics stays on top heading into quarterfinals

Despite suffering their first loss of the 2017 Chooks-to-Go Philippine Superliga Grand Prix last week at the hands of the Foton Tornadoes, the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers maintained top billing after cruising past the Iriga City Oragons, 25-11, 25-17, 25-16, at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The Cargo Movers secured the top seed with an identical 7-1 record with Foton and Petron through a superior quotient. They will face the Oragons again on Tuesday in the knockout quarterfinals.

“Nakita nila ‘yung weaknesses nila sa talo. Siyempre, mas madaling mag-improve kapag alam kung saan ka nagkukulang and nakadama ka ng talo. Hopefully, ‘yun na ‘yung huling talo namin this season and na-buold ulet ‘yung confidence ng team” said decorated F2 Logistics head coach Ramil De Jesus.

The Cargo Movers displayed their all-around brilliance, pounding Iriga City with six block kills and a 11 aces. They also forced Iriga into 24 errors while keeping their miscues down to a season-low 14.

Venezuelan reinforcement Maria Jose Perez topped the Cargo Movers with 10 points while UAAP MVP Majoy Baron added nine markers to round out a balanced scoresheet.

Serbian Tamara Kmezic was again a singular offensive force for Iriga with 13 points. The Oragons finished the elims with a 2-6 slate.
