Confirmed: Boy Sablan out of UST

Head coach Boy Sablan and his entire staff officially resigned last Monday, leaving the post of chief tactician of the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers.

The news was first published by ABS-CBN Sports and later confirmed by multiple sources to Tiebreaker Times, including a member of Sablan’s staff.

“Totoo, wala na kami sa UST,” said one member of the staff, who wished to remain anonymous.

“Ganoon talaga ang buhay,” he conceded.

Since the UST Growling Tigers’ 88-85 win over the University of the East Red Warriors last November 12, Sablan was not given the chance to even talk to his team.

Sablan compiled a 4-24 record in his two-year stay in UST. His 1-13 slate in UAAP Season 80 was the worst for any coach, while the 17-game losing streak the team experienced is the worst for any Growling Tigers team.

HIs contract was supposed to run until May 2018.
